When does a kids club or babysitter materially improve the trip?

Childcare changes the trip when it is dependable, age-appropriate and available at the hours parents actually need. A property can advertise a kids club and still leave the family doing exactly the same amount of childcare.

Answer

Childcare matters only if the child can attend, the hours overlap with something the adults actually want to do and the service is trusted enough to use. A club that opens only during the family's main excursion may be irrelevant; a two-hour session near the room can be transformative if it creates a proper meal, swim or rest. Babysitting can offer more flexibility, but the provider, vetting process, location and cancellation terms matter. Do not pay a large resort premium for an amenity that remains theoretical. Confirm the age band, supervision model, operating hours, advance-booking rules and what happens if the child refuses to stay. Childcare is not the holiday itself; it is valuable when it creates a small, dependable pocket of adult time.
