How guides are written
- Country guides are editorially reviewed and updated over time.
- The goal is not to cover every possible stop, but to explain what holds up in a real trip.
- Guides are allowed to include drawbacks, friction points, and overhyped elements when they matter.
How we research and review advice
WhereToNext uses desk research to develop its destination advice, drawing on official information and published operator details where appropriate. Published itinerary pages list sources for selected transport and route information.
Some pages display a reviewed or checked date, and selected pages flag details to recheck before travelling. Those dates should not be taken to mean that every timetable, access rule or price is current. Travellers should confirm important time-sensitive details with an official source.
Our corrections page lists entries we have recorded and the status recorded for each.
How destinations are framed
- The writing is aimed at independent travellers.
- The voice stays practical, calm, and specific.
- Recommendations are not sold as universal or algorithmically personalised.
How listings can change or be removed
- Places and suggestions can be updated, archived, or removed when facts materially change.
- No listing is kept because of a commercial relationship, and no listing is removed to promote another.
