The destination still matters; nobody wants to travel purely for convenience. But convenience decides how much of the destination the family can actually enjoy. Compare each option on five ordinary questions: how hard is the arrival, how far is useful food, how easily can the family pause, what does the weather do to the day and how many handovers sit between the base and the main experiences? A place can score poorly on one of these and still be worth it when the payoff is exceptional. Trouble starts when every category is difficult at once. A famous sight rarely makes up for a week of tiring mechanics. Choose the place whose friction the family is genuinely willing to carry, then design a route that leaves energy for the reason everyone went.
