Is Cambodia a good destination for families?
Cambodia can work with children, especially around Siem Reap, but the family version needs pool breaks, drivers or tuk-tuks, fewer temple marathons and care around heavy history sites.
Answer
Family Cambodia is usually strongest when the route is not trying to prove too much. Siem Reap can work well with a good base, pool time, tuk-tuks and temple days broken into smaller pieces. Phnom Penh’s history sites need age-appropriate thought and emotional pacing. Islands can be rewarding, but ferries, weather and medical access matter more with children. The best family itineraries trade one extra destination for easier mornings, shaded breaks and transport that does not leave everyone wrecked.
