Is two weeks enough for Nepal?

Photo of architectural detail in Nepal.

Two weeks is enough for a strong Nepal trip, but not for every trek and every lowland detour. Pick one major trek or one lighter mountain section, then leave room for Kathmandu, Pokhara and transport delays.

Answer

With two weeks, Nepal needs early cuts. An Everest Base Camp-style trip can take most of the available time once acclimatisation, Lukla buffers and Kathmandu logistics are included. Annapurna routes vary more, but still need realistic pacing. A lighter version might combine Kathmandu, Pokhara and a shorter trek or hill route, with Chitwan added only if wildlife is genuinely part of the plan. What rarely works is pretending that a two-week trip can fit a famous trek, multiple cities, safari, Lumbini and flexible mountain weather. The better version has one anchor, one recovery base and a little slack for Nepal to behave like Nepal.
