Lagos is also the busiest of these choices. In summer, parking, restaurants and the most famous beaches can become crowded. Stay three or four nights when you want both town life and time along the coast.
Faro
Faro is the practical base.

Sagres

A car is useful, especially for reaching beaches and the wider Costa Vicentina. Sagres can feel quiet outside the main season, and the weather is cooler and windier than farther east.
