Marrakech concentrates the parts of travel that can wear people down: busy lanes, sales pressure, traffic, crowds and a tourism economy that knows exactly where visitors will appear. It also has real atmosphere, food, architecture and an evening energy that explains why it remains central. Give it an entire short trip, though, and it is easy to come away deciding that Morocco itself is exhausting. Keep Marrakech, but weight it properly. Arrive with a clear base, limit the number of major sights per day and leave room for a place with a different rhythm—a smaller city, the coast, mountains or desert country. Morocco is not one long medina negotiation. A better route lets Marrakech be what it is without forcing it to represent everything else.
