Is street food in Thailand safe for travellers?
Street food is part of the Thailand experience, but it is not a dare. Busy stalls, high turnover, simple ordering and watching what people actually buy usually beat chasing the most famous-looking stall when you are tired and hungry.

Thailand rewards curious eaters, especially in markets and streets where food is cooked in front of you and turnover is high. That does not mean every stall is equal or that a sensitive stomach should be ignored. The sensible approach is practical rather than fearful: look for movement, heat, freshness and a queue that is buying the same thing repeatedly. Start gently if you have just landed. Be more cautious with food that has been sitting around, ice or water you do not trust, and ambitious ordering when you cannot identify what is being served. A little restraint early in the trip can protect the better meals later.
