Is two weeks enough for the USA?

Yes, two weeks is enough for a memorable USA trip, but not for a national survey. Choose a coast, a region or a city-plus-nature pairing; the trip gets worse when every day is a transfer.

Answer

Two weeks is a strong amount of time for New York and the East Coast corridor, a California route, a Southwest parks loop, Florida, Hawaii, or a focused city-and-nature combination. It is a poor amount of time for proving you have seen America. The country’s appeal is partly in the spacing: long highways, regional food, different accents, vast parks and cities that need more than a postcard day. If you fly across the country mid-trip, do it because the second half is worth the disruption, not because the itinerary looks more impressive with two coasts. The cleanest two-week plans have three or four main bases, one hard travel day at a time, and a few quiet evenings that do not need to justify themselves.
