Is Ningaloo or Broome worth the extra travel?
Ningaloo and Broome can be extraordinary, but they are not nearby beach add-ons to Perth. Go when the season and flights support the reason you are travelling, not because the names look close on a map.

Ningaloo is strongest when reef, snorkelling, diving or marine wildlife are the point. Broome has a different pull: heat, coast, colour, distance and a gateway feel to far north-west Australia. Both ask for more time, money and seasonal awareness than travellers often expect. They are not the obvious next step after a Perth weekend. Build the trip around their strengths, or save them for a WA-focused journey where the long distances become part of the logic.
