Zhangjiajie is often more park-system oriented, with dramatic pillars, cable cars and viewpoint logistics. Huangshan leans into classic mountain imagery, sunrise hopes, steps, weather and the decision of whether to sleep near or on the mountain. Neither is a casual add-on if the rest of the trip is already busy. Choose one, check current access and weather, and build the route around actually being there rather than just reaching the entrance.
