Use it for food, markets, neighbourhoods, Batu Caves if it interests you, and a gentle adjustment to Malaysia’s heat and pace. The city is not as instantly charming as George Town and it can feel spread out, but that is not a reason to skip it. KL works best when you plan by area, break up the heat and let meals carry the day. Stay too briefly and you miss the city’s practical value; stay too long on a short trip and Malaysia’s islands, food cities or Borneo start waiting.
