Choose the Perhentians for snorkelling, diving and simple beach days; Redang for a more resort-led stay built around clear water and snorkelling; Tioman for a larger, greener island where villages, jungle and diving give you more to explore beyond one beach. The east-coast islands are much more seasonal: during the northeast monsoon, many resorts close and ferry schedules become more weather-sensitive, so check current access before committing.
