Khareef can make Dhofar feel like a different Oman, but it is not simply better weather with greener hills. Go for that seasonal mood, and check current conditions before building the trip around it.

Khareef is the reason many travellers become curious about Salalah: mist, greenery and a southern landscape that does not match the usual image of Oman. That difference is the point. It can also bring crowds, cloudy views, damp roads, higher demand and a very specific seasonal rhythm. If you want clear desert light and easy northern routing, it may not be the answer. If you want Dhofar at its most distinctive, plan it deliberately and give the region time.
