Is Oman safe for solo travellers?

Oman is usually a manageable solo-travel country, but the practical risks sit in driving, heat, remote wadis, late arrivals and cultural misreads rather than constant street hassle.

Answer

The main Oman route is often calmer than travellers expect, especially around Muscat, Nizwa and established road-trip stops. That does not make planning optional. Solo travellers need to be more careful with remote drives, water and fuel margins, phone signal, wadi weather, night arrivals and dress or behaviour in conservative settings. The right tone is not fear. It is quiet competence: know where you are going, avoid making hard decisions when tired, and keep remote days simple.
